About Us
Welcome! The Idaho Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling was officially a state Division of the Idaho Counseling Association as of July 1st, 2015. In 2020, we joined our national association in becoming the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE) Idaho.
The mission of SAIGE Idaho is to improve the counseling services and quality of life for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) individuals through education and advocacy. We believe all individuals should be free to develop their full potential regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. We recognize the unique challenges LGBTQ+ individuals face as a result of systemic oppression.
The vision of SAIGE Idaho is to promote awareness, understanding, competency and best practices among helping professions in service delivery, collaboration and advocacy within the LGBTQ+ community.

Membership Categories:
- Professional Member – Licensed professionals. $20 annually.
- Student Member - Students enrolled in a post-secondary program in the area of human development who are not employed more than half-time as a professional counselor. $10 annually.
- Associate Member - Any person who works in a closely related mental health field, but does not hold a master’s degree in counseling. $10 annually.
- Retired Member - A retired member is a person who has been an ICA professional member for five consecutive years and who has retired from the counseling profession. $10 annually.
All membership dues are one year from date of processing.
