LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:

An individual with a long and distinguished service record within the counseling profession, and  who demonstrates exemplary care for clients, fellow professionals, students, marginalized populations and anyone else served by the counseling profession. Nominees maintain the highest standards of personal conduct, and strive to be model citizens of their local communities, the counseling community, and their broader professional community. This person maintains high standards in their personal and professional conduct, and have demonstrated consistent and reliable contributions in all the areas of service, scholarship, and clinical practice during an exemplary career span.


COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR:                       

An individual who has gone beyond the call of duty by demonstrating exceptional service and achievement as a practitioner through the application of ICA goals, exemplifying the model of an ideal counselor.  This nominee demonstrates excellent rapport with clients, counselors, co-workers and the community and is highly respected among peers.


DISTINGUISHED ADVOCATE AWARD:   

An individual who, in any professional capacity, has demonstrated excellent advocacy by engaging in meaningful service and support of the counseling profession. This individual is willing to serve, promote advocacy, and create new paths for the counseling profession. This person’s advocacy for the counseling profession has a positive impact for counselors on a local, state or national level. This award can be given to counselors, other professionals, or organizations.


SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR:                      

An individual who has gone beyond the call of duty by providing exemplary counseling supervision to others. Supervision provided helps the supervisee with honest and constructive feedback to promote professional growth. This nominee demonstrates outstanding ethical decision making when supervising and teaching others about counseling. This supervisor can be both within the counselor educational system or for upper licensure.


COUNSELOR EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR:

An individual who is teaching future counselors how to become professional, ethical practitioners. This nominee embraces the role of teaching, mentoring, and advising counselors-in-training and is committed to the counseling profession.


RISING STAR AWARD:

This award is for a new counselor, in their first 5 years of the profession, that has shown outstanding dedication to becoming involved in the counseling community, leadership or advocacy and that shows incredible promise in the counseling field.
