The purpose of this workshop is to assist participants with facilitating discussion relevant to the use of social media in the practice of counseling, and how and when it may contribute to the development of multiple relationships. In addition it will address issues of competency in using social media in the counseling practice, how it may invade a client’s right to privacy, or breach confidentiality. Scenarios and questions are posed for the participant to consider in terms of their own practice, implications for the profession, and overall ethical practices.
