Ethical Practice when Working with Minority Children

According to the Pew Research Center, demographic makeup of the American population is more divers racial and ethnically than it has been in the past. In addition to the increasing numbers of minority groups, there is also growth of foreign born immigrants contributing to the changing demographics of the United States (Lopez, Passel, & Rohall, 2015). As ethically practicing counselors, it is imperative that we are culturally aware and responsive to needs of this changing nation. This presentation will help add to the knowledge base of professional counselors through dialogue and discussion about cultural considerations to take into account when working through dialogue and discussion about cultural considerations to take into account when working through ethical dilemmas with minority children.
