Learning the Ins and Out of the New ASCA Model- 4th Edition

The 2019 ASCA conference showcased the publication of the ASCA National Model, 4th edition. This workshop explores the reasoning and research on which it is based, important changes, and new templates for an evidence-based school counseling program. Solidify your own understanding so that you, too, employ current best practice.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will appreciate the trends and research for the development of the 4th edition of the ASCA National Model.
2. Participants will understand and be able to articulate the changes in each of the four components of the ASCA Nation Model.
3. Participants will explore how the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success: K–12 College- and Career- Readiness Standards for Student are fundamental to the implementation of a school counseling program and are the basis of activities and interventions in all action plans.
4. Participants will review the revised templates and examine examples to provide a working knowledge on how to implement them in the school counseling program.
