Community Lobbying 101 for Counselors
The community lobbying 101 training session is your guide to all things at the Idaho Legislature. Discover how you can become an effective community lobbyist by learning insider tips and tricks for becoming a successful legislative advocate for the issues you care most about. During the training we’ll review the legislative process and make-up of the Idaho Legislature, review best practices for meeting with elected officials (including one-on-one meetings and providing testimony at public hearings) as well as how to strategically connect with the media to elevate your legislative work. We’ll also spend time demystifying what lobbying work looks like so that you can feel empowered and prepared to advance your work inside the Idaho Statehouse. It’s time to turn the people’s house back to the people. Presented by Kathy Griesmyer, Policy Director, ACLU Idaho
