Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based therapeutic approach developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003. Brainspotting was developed from EMDR and is rooted in neurobiology, attunement, somatic processing, and mindfulness. Brainspotting uses eye position to access and process unprocessed trauma, emotional pain, and performance blocks stored in the subcortical brain.
This webinar will provide participants with an opportunity learn more about Brainspotting and the concept of "How you look affects how you feel." The webinar will cover the basics of how Brainspotting was developed and how it differs from EMDR. This webinar does not qualify a person to use Brainspotting with clients. Rather, it will introduce pathways for further learning, including formal training opportunities for those interested in integrating Brainspotting into their professional practice.
Course Objectives:
Describe the core principles of Brainspotting and how it differs from traditional talk therapy approaches.
Explain the concept of “where you look affects how you feel.”
Evaluate the potential applications of Brainspotting within their own professional or personal context and identify next steps for formal training and skill development.
